2014

Wallin highlighted the following issues on her campaign website:

Dear Friends,

For the past 12 years, I've been honored to serve as Trustee for Irvine Unified School District. As a 35-year resident of Irvine, I love our community and value our exceptional schools. Nationally recognized for excellence, Irvine's schools are the reason most residents choose to live here. My three children attended IUSD's schools from kindergarten through 12th grade.

As IUSD President, I've led our schools through tough economic times and sweeping state-mandated changes. We have emerged with a balanced budget, healthy reserves and our stellar programs intact.

  • Highest SAT scores in Orange County
  • High Schools ranked among America's best
  • Awarding winning programs in music, science, and art
  • Safe and state-of-the-art facilities

I bring to the board an unparalleled base of knowledge; continuity and an in-depth perspective of our district. Irvine Unified School District is facing challenging decisions regarding the growth within our city. If re-elected, I will provide the steady, proven leadership that has protected our schools in tumultuous times:

  • Hiring the best and brightest teachers
  • Enhancing arts, music, science and career/tech education
  • Utilizing latest technology
  • Efficient use of your taxpayer dollars
  • Providing our student with a well-rounded education

I'm a full-time board member–passionate about providing a world-class education for each and every student. I would appreciate your support.

Sincerely,
Sharon Wallin[1]
