Shaun R. Floerke

Shaun R. Floerke was the assistant chief judge of the Sixth Judicial District and served in St. Louis County, Minnesota from 2004 to 2021.[1] He was appointed to this court in 2004. He was elected in 2006 to a full term and re-elected in 2012 and 2018.[2][3] Floerke resigned on January 1, 2021, to join Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation as its president and CEO.[4]
Education
Floerke received his B.A. from the University of Wisconsin at Madison in 1988 and his J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School in 1992.[2]
Career
Floerke began his legal career as an attorney for the law firm of Ruth, Schreiner, Long & Floerke in Owatonna, MN. He worked in this position and as a prosecutor for the Steele County Attorney's Office from 1992 to 1996. He then practiced for a brief time with the law firm of Fryberger, Buchanan, Smith & Frederick before he became an assistant St. Louis County attorney (criminal division) in 1997. He served in this capacity until his judicial appointment in 2004.[2]
Elections
2012
Floerke ran unopposed in the general election November 6, 2012.[5] He received 99.22% of the vote.[6]
