Shawn Mitchell is a former Republican member of the Colorado State Senate, representing District 23 from 2005 to 2013. He served in the Colorado House of Representatives from 1999 to 2004.

Biography

Mitchell earned his B.S. from Brigham Young University and his J.D. from the University of California-Berkeley. His professional experience includes working as a Senior Fellow at Independence Institute, Special Counsel for Colorado Attorney General Gale Norton and private practice attorney for Denver and Adams County.

Mitchell was ineligible to run for re-election to the Colorado State Senate in 2012 due to term limits.

2008

On November 4, 2008, Mitchell was elected to the 23rd District Seat in the Colorado State Senate, defeating opponent Joseph A. Whitcomb (D).[2]

Mitchell raised $106,869 for his campaign, while Whitcomb raised $144,262.[3]
