I am an independent woman of strong principle. I am a moderate Democrat. I believe in humanity and decency. I have been politically active for over 20 years. I have served as Precinct Chair, Election Judge, Campaign Manager, served on party committees, and I have worked as a grassroots volunteer for many of those years for many campaigns. More importantly, I am the wife to my beloved husband of 31 years, and the mother to our 3 accomplished, brilliant and talented young adult children who we are very proud of! I believe that to achieve a great quality of life, we all have to do our part. Doing our part begins at home, then it is filtered out into our communities. Running for office is not something that I take lightly. It was years of watching the sacrifice of my forefathers, standing on the shoulders of women before me, and my concern for the future of our state.
  • Access is the pathway to any communities success!
  • The status quo is not working! When the same politicians, same party, and same stagnant ideas continue to represent us, District 53 and Arkansas as a whole will remain at the bottom of the 50 states in education, health, prosperity, and quality of life. It is time to usher in new ideas, strategies, and a woman to lead District 53.
  • If we want economic growth and empowerment, we must maintain our communities and infrastructure, educate and train our people, and demand excellent work ethic to be nationally competitive so that major corporations want to locate to DIstrict 53.

I look up to my mother and my mother in law who are both incredible women. My mother provided a comfortable clean home always with healthy delicious meals. My mother is articulate, smart, an avid reader, and she has a vast vocabulary of which I have always strove to achieve. She came from humble beginnings yet she is now enjoying retirement and her home that she owns. My mother in law has always been loving and a great grandmother to our children, a great teacher, and also an avid reader. She would travel to the end of the earth just to visit her grandchildren's classroom. She is still witty at 95 and she enjoys a good laugh!
Integrity, honesty, commitment, respect, team player, an ability and a desire to reach across the aisle, and follow through.
Integrity, Honesty, Commitment, Tenacity, Desire to represent the needs of everyone in my district, Resourcefulness, Confident, Intelligent, Educated, and Unafraid
Our responsibilities as an elected official are to best represent the needs of EVERYONE in our district. Not just those in one's own party but EVERYONE! Our job is to make sure that what we contribute to the state in the form of taxes, that a majority of it comes back to and benefits our District. It is to make sure that the needs of our district are met in a timely manner.
My first job was for a local park installing braille. I had that job for the entire summer in 9th grade when working papers were required.
Experience is always beneficial whether its serving in the legislator or in any aspect of initiatives one is most passionate about.
Absolutely! Our job is to build and maintain our communities and ultimately Arkansas! We can not accomplish that independently. We must work together for the good of our community and state!
Augusta Clark, former Councilwoman in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania although not a legislator was an amazing politician who I have great respect for and current Sen. Joyce Elliott.
There are several personal stories that I have heard that I have found very impactful. One is from women in my district who desire to find full time jobs that will afford them the ability to care for themselves and their family. However, they state that one of the major local companies does not hire women because the men are afraid of being accused of sexual harassment. The second story is the fact that one of the towns in my district, Monette does not have an emergency communications system. According to our Senator, a bill has been introduced but it's gone no where. Both stories are very disturbing and must be resolved not in the future or when someone gets around to it but resolved immediately!
