Sheila G. Farmer was the administrative judge of the Ohio Fifth District Court of Appeals.[1] She was elected to the court in 1992 and was re-elected in 1998, 2004, and 2010.[2] She was ineligible for re-election in 2016 because she reached Ohio's mandatory retirement age.[3] She retired at the end of her term on February 8, 2017.

Education

Farmer received her B.A. degree from Marymount College and her J.D. from the Case Western Reserve University School of Law.[2]

Career

Farmer began her legal career as assistant prosecutor for Stark County and the cities of Cleveland and Canton in Ohio. In 1978, she became the presiding judge of the Massillon Municipal Court. She then moved to the Stark County Common Pleas Court in 1984, where she served until her election to the Ohio Fifth District Court of Appeals.[2]

Elections

Farmer was unopposed in the Republican primary and received 101,646 votes on May 4, 2010. She was re-elected after running unopposed in the general election on November 2, 2010.[6][7]
