I’m a lifelong champion for working Coloradans. Coming from a working-class family with a history of military service, I have always believed that service to others is one of the most important things a person can do. At the state house, I have worked to uplift hardworking Jeffco families.

I’ve worked hard my whole life to put food on my family’s table while helping others do the same. Having spent four decades as a telecom worker, I am a longtime believer in organized labor. I’ve been an active advocate at the state Capitol for years, working on behalf of my fellow telecom workers and seniors

I have long been active in our community, including serving as the Labor Merit Badge Coordinator and Communications Merit Badge Coordinator for BSA Troop 498, where my son was an Eagle Scout. I am also a longtime volunteer with the Colorado Alliance for Retirees, as well as serving on their executive board and national board, and was a member of the Tri-County Workforce Development Board for 11 years. I am a lifetime member of the Jefferson County Democratic Latino Initiative (JDLI) and served on my Homeowner's Association as vice president and president for 14 years.
  • I’m a Jeffco mom, not a career politician. I ran for office for the first time in 2022 because HD28 needed someone from our community representing us, not a career politician. I’m running for reelection to continue putting the needs of our community first.
  • I’m focused on the issues that matter. I have crossed the aisle and passed bipartisan bills that allow people to have a shot at the American Dream, safeguard public education, protect our workers and their rights, lower taxes on the middle class, seniors, military, and Gold Star families, and fund first responders. I look at the policy, not the party, whenever making decisions on legislation.
  • I think building relationships with other legislators is a big part of the job. No one can legislate alone, and developing relationships with other policymakers is essential to being a representative that can pass bills, advance important causes, and make the voice of their district heard.
I’m passionate about healthcare reform, tax reform, education, community safety, and protecting the ability for our seniors to age in place and live with dignity. I’m constantly looking for ways to make Jeffco more affordable and supportive of hard-working families.
The most important characteristics or principles for an elected official are integrity, transparency, compassion, a strong work ethic, and the ability to collaborate and reach across the aisle to get good policy passed.
As a current officeholder, I have passed and worked on bills that fight for everyone to have a shot at the American Dream, safeguard public education, protect our workers and their rights, lower taxes for the middle class, our seniors, military, and Gold Star families, while still funding our first responders. Additionally, I’m working to ensure women aren’t treated as second-class citizens and have the right to control their own bodies, equal pay for equal work, and that the most vulnerable in our society have a chance to share in the success and bounty of this great state.
I believe that elected officials must be accessible to their constituents, act with honesty, and stay focused on the issues that are most important to their community and not their personal political views.
I would like to be remembered as someone who wasn’t afraid to shake things up in order to make my community a better place with equitable laws for everyone, livable wages, affordable healthcare, affordable housing, support for seniors, and reproductive freedoms.
I think building relationships with other legislators is a big part of the job. No one can legislate alone, and developing relationships with other policymakers is essential to being a representative that can pass bills, advance important causes, and make the voice of their district heard.

Scorecards

See also: State legislative scorecards and State legislative scorecards in Colorado

A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.

Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.

Click here for an overview of legislative scorecards in all 50 states. To contribute to the list of Colorado scorecards, email suggestions to editor@ballotpedia.org.
