Sheila M. O'Brien was a judge on the Illinois First District Appellate Court, 4th Division. She was elected to this position in 1994, taking office on December 5th. She was retained by voters in 2004.[1][2][3] In 2011, she retired from the court.[4]

Education

Judge O'Brien was born in 1955. She graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a B.A. degree in 1977 and a J.D. degree in 1980.[1]

Career

Judge O'Brien has worked as an assistant public defender, a general trial lawyer, and a teacher for the St. Louis University Law School. She served as an Associate Judge from 1985 until her election to the Appellate Court in 1994.[1]
