The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was March 30, 2014. Shelia Antley Counts was unopposed in the Democratic primary. Incumbent Eddie Tallon was unopposed in the Republican primary. Counts was defeated by Tallon in the general election.[2][3][1]
