Education

Gilman received her undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois and then earned her law degree from the University of Denver College of Law in 1978.[1]

Career

Gilman's legal career included working in county trial offices, in the appellate division of the Colorado State Public Defender's office, and as a private practice lawyer in Denver, Colorado.[1]

Gilman was retained in the general election on November 6, winning 77.91% of the vote.[2]

Judicial performance evaluation

The Second Judicial District Commission on Judicial Performance announced its recommendations for judges up for retention in 2012. According to its website, the commission evaluated judges based on the following criteria: integrity, legal knowledge, communication skills, judicial temperament, and administrative performance.[3] Judge Gilman was recommended for retention by a unanimous vote.[4]
