|- SAFETY: Our kids, teachers and staff need to be safe and healthy in order to learn at school. We need leaders who are willing to make that happen.
- LISTEN: Taxpayers and community members need leaders who are willing to listen to constituents before acting.
- LITERACY: Less than half of our first and second grade students can read. We need to prioritize literacy for ALL students with the right curriculum, training and teacher support.
I'm interested in all areas of public education policy, particularly funding for special education, English Language Learners and universal preschool. I'm also an advocate for structured literacy and believe we must incorporate curriculum that follows the Science of Reading in order to meet district goals and ensure our kids have a bright future.
