Shelly Stoll Swanson was born in California. She attended Saddleback Junior College and earned a bachelor's degree from the University of California, Santa Cruz. Her career experience includes working as an accountant and production coordinator for the Walt Disney Company and advocating for disability rights in education.[1]

- Delta College needs to increase outreach in Area 1 by providing more information about educational opportunities that will enhance students' abilities to enhance their current careers, change careers, or to take classes simply to improve their lives, along with information on completing degrees and certificates.
- Delta College needs to hire more counselors and improve it's online information to better serve the needs of it's students and potential students to attain the education they need and want. Also, make an easier process to access financial aid.
- Make sure that if the bond passes, it is used appropriately; for needed maintenance, and using it for expansion of programs that attract new students.
