I am a former accountant, wife and mother of 3. I have lived in Area 1 for 20 years and been a supporter of Delta college for over 23 years. My kids went to Delta college Childcare Center for preschool and have taken classes through the years and one of my sons is still attending in the technical trac. I have supported student fundraisers, lobbied for state funds, advocated for disability accommodations and been a strong supporter of all the unions.
  • Delta College needs to increase outreach in Area 1 by providing more information about educational opportunities that will enhance students' abilities to enhance their current careers, change careers, or to take classes simply to improve their lives, along with information on completing degrees and certificates.
  • Delta College needs to hire more counselors and improve it's online information to better serve the needs of it's students and potential students to attain the education they need and want. Also, make an easier process to access financial aid.
  • Make sure that if the bond passes, it is used appropriately; for needed maintenance, and using it for expansion of programs that attract new students.
Equity and the rights of the disabled.
Educational outreach
To be accessible and responsive to their community.
Honesty, accountability and willing to listen to all sides.
Honesty, loyalty and commitment to fairness. I am also a good negotiator and I listen to all sides. I have been around the College for 23 years and know it's pluses and minuses and know it can do more for my community . I would fight hard for student rights and to bring Career classes back to the community.
