Sherry Giebler was born in Salina, Kansas. She earned a bachelor's degree in Sociology in 1989 , a master's degree in 1992, and an EdS in 2018 all from Fort Hays State University. She also holds a LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) in the state of Kansas. Her 30 year career experience includes working as a counselor in public education K-12, Johnson County Community College, adjunct professor at Fort Hays State University, and private practice. She retired in 2023.
  • Education- Fully fund special education and keep public dollars in public schools.
  • Healthcare- Support access to affordable healthcare including mental and reproductive health.
  • Economic Growth- Develop policies that promote businesses and maintain the necessary infrastructure and services to create long term economic growth.
She is passionate about mental health and making sure those that need services are able to receive assistance. She also supports labor unions and their ability to help build a strong working class.
The first historical event that comes to memory was in 1979, the energy crisis. As a 13 year old, the most concerning memory about this era was that my father was a truck driver and this had a huge impact on his ability to work. Also, the nightly news was reporting that the Shah had came to power and made himself a dictator, contrary to those in the country that wanted a democracy.
