There was a Shields Township Property Tax Reduction measure on the February 2 ballot in Lake County for voters in the township of Shields.
This measure was approved
- YES 2,274 (56.94%)

- NO 1,720 (43.06%)[1]
This measure asked voters if they would approve the reduction of property taxes on residents who had lived in their homes more than 30 years. The reduction was to take place over five years and would bring their property taxes down to the original rate it was 30 years prior.[2]
