- Strong OPEN, transparent & healthy relationship between parents & school district. Being OPEN to listening to what parents want for their children & how district can help provide it. OLSD has always talked about being transparent. But most of the parents do not even know that OLSD have committees that parents can be part of. Also, a lot of committees only have members either recommended by board members or school administrators. This does not look like transparency at all. Every parent as well as community members should be allowed to serve on committees.
- I have yet to see any representation from olentangy school board at township, city or county meetings. Why OLSD is not having an input in the development should be addressed immediately. The development of cities, townships & counties directly affect the numbers of students in OLSD.
- OLSD lost another child to suicide because of bullying. As a parent of a 5th grader, I have not yet heard about what measures are being taken or what reforms are being made or course of action is going to be taken so OLSD do not lose another child to bullying.
The trust between parents & district is not as strong as it should be.
Lots of parents with kid(s) on IEP or 504 are not happy and would like more continued help. Some kids when move from one school to another bcoz of redistricting are not getting the help that’s written in their files.
