A special election for the position of Massachusetts House of Representatives Ninth Plymouth District was called for March 1. A primary election took place on February 2. The filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was December 29, 2015.[1]
The seat was vacant following Michael Brady's (D) election to the state Senate on November 3, 2015.
Gerry Cassidy defeated Shaynah Barnes and Shirley Asack in the Democratic primary.[2] Cassidy was unopposed in the special election.[3][4][5]
