Shirley W. Kram was a federal judge for the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. She joined the court in 1983 after being nominated by President Ronald Reagan. Kram passed away on August 21, 2009.[1]

Early life and ecuation

Kram graduated from Brooklyn Law School with her Bachelor of Laws degree in 1950.[1]

Judicial career

Southern District of New York

On the recommendation of U.S. Senator Al D'Amato, Kram was nominated by President Ronald Reagan on January 31, 1983, to a seat vacated by Judge Lawrence Pierce. Kram was confirmed by the Senate on March 2, 1983, and received commission on March 2, 1983. Kram later assumed senior status on May 23, 1993.[1] Kram passed away on August 21, 2009.
