Improving and Enhancing Irvine's Quality of Life As one of the best Master-planned Cities in the Nation, Irvine's high quality of life is largely due to the meticulous and smart planning that went into building out our City. As your Councilmember, I will be committed to balancing growth with thoughtful consideration of all aspects that affect our daily lives, and uphold the high standards that have made Irvine one of the best Cities to live in. Responsibly Managing our Budget As your Councilmember, I will fight to make sure our City is getting the best value for our tax dollars and that our budget is spent wisely on services that benefit the residents. I will also work to ensure Irvine continues its legacy of creativity and innovation in the delivery of government services. Promoting Educational Excellence The high quality of Education is one of the main reasons families want to live in Irvine. As a mother of two, I understand the importance of providing EVERY student the opportunity to receive the best education that is available in our City. I am committed to building a stronger partnership with our neighborhood schools, Irvine Valley College and the University of California, Irvine. Through cooperation with Community partners, I will also focus on the wellbeing of our children by promoting Prevention Strategies to help them navigate the many challenges that they face. Celebrating Cultural Diversity People from all over the world choose to live in Irvine, because the City provides a lifestyle that not only accepts, but welcomes Cultural Diversity. Irvine is one of the most integrated Cities, where many languages are spoken on every street, and students are exposed to over seventy different ones in our schools. As a member of the Council, I will advance the principle of multiculturalism by creating more Community events and festivities, so that all residents, young and old, and families, can enjoy the differences of cultures through more exposure and knowledge. Only by knowing more about each other can we understand each other. Keeping Neighborhoods Safe Nothing is more important than keeping our neighborhoods safe, and knowing that our families, our children are protected. As your Councilmember, I will prioritize funding for our Public Safety Department to maintain fast emergency response times, and work with our Police Department to ensure we are always employing the most effective methods to combat and prevent crime.[7][8] |
