Shonda Stone (Democratic Party) is a judge for the 3rd District of the Louisiana 2nd Circuit Court of Appeal. She assumed office in 2016. Her current term ends on December 31, 2034.
Stone (Democratic Party) won re-election for the 3rd District judge of the Louisiana 2nd Circuit Court of Appeal outright in the primary on November 5, 2024, after the primary and general election were canceled.
Stone previously served as judge on the Caddo Parish Juvenile Court.[1] She joined that court in 2009, and her last term would have expired on December 31, 2020.[2]
Biography
Stone received her undergraduate degree from Southern University and her J.D. from the Southern University Law Center.[3] Stone practiced law in Shreveport for 15 years, specializing in family and children's law.[4]

Louisiana elections use the majority-vote system. All candidates compete in the same primary, and a candidate can win the election outright by receiving more than 50 percent of the vote.
