Sidney Sugarman (1904-1974) was a federal judge on the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.

Sugarman received a recess appointment from President Harry Truman on October 21, 1949, to a new seat created by 63 Stat. 493; he was nominated on January 5, 1950, confirmed by the Senate on April 28, 1950, and received commission on May 1st. He served as chief judge from 1966-1971. Sugarman was succeeded in this position by Charles Stewart. He assumed senior status on June 30, 1971, and served in that capacity until his death on August 9, 1974.[1]
