Who are you? Tell us about yourself.

I am a homeschooling mother of two, who migrated to the USA over 20 years ago. I love reading, sports/outdoors, museums, gardening. I love going places, meeting people and learning new things, learning about food and cultures and many things about life.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

• Accountability & Responsible Leadership

  • Making sure taxpayer money is managed wisely.

  • Calling for transparency, clear metrics (like public safety dashboards), and honest communication with the community.
• Balanced Growth & Smart Planning • Ensuring housing, business, and infrastructure grow in a way that keeps Maple Valley livable. • Protecting neighborhoods and character while allowing thoughtful development.
• Community Safety & Quality of Life • Strengthening police staffing and public safety with measurable standards. • Preserving nature, parks, and green spaces as central to the city’s identity and family life.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

Fiscal responsibility, sustainable community growth, and safety/quality of life — all grounded in the belief that local government must be accountable, transparent, and balanced in serving residents.

What qualities does this office possess that makes it a unique and important part of the state government and legal system?

The fact that the council is elected/chosen by the people to represent them to hear and to communicate with the city leadership. To understand what is the common needs of the people and stand for them.

Who do you look up to? Whose example would you like to follow, and why?

My father. A man who came from small town with polio on his left foot but had such a big dream that he finished college and was able to run his own business and did well.

What characteristics or principles are most important for an elected official?

Leadership integrity (that covers accountability, transparency, commitment and competence)

What do you believe are the core responsibilities for someone elected to this office?

To be the voice of the citizens as well as to be the objective mediator between city leadership and the people

What legacy would you like to leave?

A legacy of people who love helping others. Walk the talk, compassionate shown in actions

What is the first historical event that happened in your lifetime that you remember? How old were you at the time?

The eruption of Mt Galunggung when I was in 11th grade

What was your very first job? How long did you have it?

I had my first job when I was 15 or 14 - teaching science and maths to my classmates

What is your favorite book? Why?

The Bible. It’s inspired by God and the only true living word of God

If you could be any fictional character, who would you want to be?

What is something that has been a struggle in your life?

When there is struggle, there will always be a way out of it. See problem as an opportunity to grow better.

Are there any little-known powers or responsibilities held by this office that you believe more people should be aware of?

Perhaps. Perhaps people are aware of the power of a city council to bring their voice to the city leadership and to bring back reports to them from the city hall, yet people have not expected it to be totally performed.

Do you believe that it's beneficial for holders of this office to have previous experience in government or politics?

Not necessarily. Work experience is just as valuable since what is required most is dedication to relentlessly work for the people.

What qualities does this office possess that makes it a unique and important part of the local government?

The presence of a council member is critical to help mayor and the other city officials to make sound decisions on behalf of the city’s needs and city’s growth.

Candidates hear many personal stories from voters. Is there a story that you’ve heard that you found particularly touching or memorable?

The most thing I heard is that many voters often asked their candidate to do something about something and when candidate won the position they failed to fulfill the request.

What is an accomplishment that you are proud of?

That I raise two wonderful, caring, independent and intelligent children
