A Siskiyou County Jefferson Republic Territory Question ballot measure was on the June 3, 2014 election ballot for voters in Siskiyou County, California, where it was defeated.

If approved, Measure C would have enacted the Territory Initiative Ordinance.[1]

A related, but different, question was before voters in Tehama County on the June 3 election ballot. It was approved.

A 51st state declaration measure was also put on the ballot in Del Norte County through an initiative petition, but it was defeated.

Tehama County was the fifth county to approve a resolution calling for a state split. Siskiyou County, Modoc County, Glenn County and Yuba County all approved such measures in the past.[2]

Mark Baird, a spokesman for the Jefferson State movement, distanced the movement from the Jefferson Republic Terretory Initiative rejected by county voters. Concerning Measure C, Baird said, “Don’t be confused by the media’s misstatements about Siskiyou County. The failure of Measure C and its Territory Special District has absolutely nothing to do with the State of Jefferson. Measure C was an attempt to hijack the support of the State of Jefferson — an attempt which failed, and rightly so. The State of Jefferson is in full force. We have just added a fifth county to the growing project.”[2]
