Six applicants announced for Arizona Court of Appeals vacancy

Arizona: Six candidates have applied for a Division I vacancy on the Arizona Court of Appeals. Those being considered by the Commission on Appellate Court Appointments are hoping to succeed retiring judge Sheldon Weisberg.[1]
The candidates are:
- Derek Carlisle, Criminal and Juvenile Court Commissioner;
- Andrew W. Gould, Yuma County Superior Court judge;
- Kenton Jones, Yavapai County Superior Court judge;
- Richard D. Lambert;
- Elizabeth A. McFarland; and
- John Paul Plante, Yuma County Superior Court judge.
From today until August 5th, the commission will accept public comments on the applicants. From there, the body will decided which candidates to interview. At least three candidates will have their names forwarded to Governor Jan Brewer for consideration for appointment.
