Smith Murphey is a judge for the Seventeenth Judicial District (Place 1) in Mississippi. He was elected in 2010 for a term that expired in 2014.[1] He was re-elected after running unopposed on November 4, 2014, for a term that begins in 2015 and will expire in 2018.[2][3]

Murphey defeated William R. Sanders, Jr., Adam A. Pittman and Rhonda Mason Amis in the general election for the Seventeenth Judicial District, winning 53% of the vote.[1][4]

Education

Murphy earned a B.B.A. from the University of Mississippi in 1990. He went on to receive his J.D. from Mississippi College in 1994.[5]
