Solomon Hicks Bethea (1852-1909) was a federal judge on the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

He was nominated by President Theodore Roosevelt on March 18, 1905 to fill a seat vacated by Christian Cecil Kohlsaat. He was confirmed by the Senate on March 18, 1905, and received commission that same day. He served until his death on August 3, 1909.[1] Bethea was succeeded in this position by George Albert Carpenter.
