Biography
Somtoochukwu Ik-Ejiofor earned two bachelor's degrees from the University of Houston in 2015 and a graduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 2020. Her career experience includes working in government and public service.[1]

I am very proud of my many academic achievements. I was able to graduate with three degrees in six years all while going to school fulltime and working two jobs to make ends meet. I attended University of Houston and where I earned B.Sc degrees in Economics and Political Science. I attended the LBJ School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin where I earned her Masters degree in Public Affairs.
I am a staunch catholic. I volunteer at many church events; I have volunteered for many years at the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston. I have been there at every turn for Texans at their time of need either via volunteering or working at all levels of government and across the aisle to ensure good policies are passed at the Texas Legislature.
My hobbies include listening to energy talks about a livable sustainable future with a cleaner energy system and a stable Texas Grid. I also enjoy pop culture and event planning. You have not lived until you have attended a SOM event!
- Extensive Legislative experience: I have spent almost a decade in and around the Texas Legislature. I am currently the only one on the 147 ballot with actual Legislative experience.
- Academic accolades: I have three degrees pertinent to the job. I have worked for the best and learned from the best. I am ready to put the knowledge I have acquired into good use.
- Passion: I am passionate about helping people. I will bring my passion and tenacity to the Texas Legislature.
I would like to follow the example of Kofi Annan. Kofi led a life of example that inspired me. He reformed the UN which in turn change the world. I would like make the world a better place on day at a time. I will continue to lead by example and remain a public servant.

I am not a current legislator. I am hoping to become one in 2023
I have followed her career for many years and I be lucky to be half as good as she is.
DC is not my cup of tea. It is too cold. I am off Nigerian decent, I do not do cold weather.
It is not my place to tell people's stories for them. I do not have the permission to share these stories.
The word compromise has become a dirty word. I believe compromise is desirable for policymaking and necessary when needed. But sometimes, you just have to hold the line. Sometimes! not all the time.
