Sonia Cortés was a judge of the Superior Court of Yolo County in California. She was appointed by Democratic Governor Jerry Brown on July 16, 2015, to fill the vacancy created by the conversion of a commissioner position in January 2015. Cortés was the first Latino to serve as judge for this court. Her term expired in 2016.[1]

Education

Cortés received a bachelor's degree from the University of California at Davis, and a J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law.[1]
