I have dedicated over 20 years to higher education, shaping the futures of countless students. For the past 17 years, I’ve been proud to call Northside ISD District 2 my home, and I’m deeply invested in the success of our community.

I earned my bachelor’s degree from Texas Tech University, my Master of Public Administration from the University of Texas at San Antonio, and my Ph.D. from Our Lady of the Lake University. Currently, I serve as the Director of High School Programs at Palo Alto College, where I work to expand access to college opportunities across 22 ISDs. I also have the privilege of teaching undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral courses at both Our Lady of the Lake University and the University of the Incarnate Word.

I know firsthand the transformative power of public education. That’s why I’m passionate about ensuring every student in Northside ISD has the resources and support they need to succeed. My experience in both administration and teaching has given me a deep understanding of how education can open doors for students of all backgrounds.

Motivated by a strong commitment to equity and excellence, I’m running to advocate for students, families, and educators. I believe in strengthening community partnerships, expanding college and career pathways, and fostering an inclusive learning environment where all students and teachers can thrive.
  • First, I am dedicated to enhancing student achievement by implementing strategies that foster academic excellence, provide personalized support, and equip students with the skills they need to succeed in an ever-changing world.
  • Second, I am committed to supporting teacher retention by advocating for better resources, professional development opportunities, and a positive working environment that empowers educators to thrive and make a lasting impact.
  • Finally, I will prioritize community input by actively ensuring that every voice (students, parents, educators, or local organizations) is valued and heard. Together, we will build a supportive and inclusive educational environment that reflects the diverse values, aspirations, and needs of our entire community.
I'm committed to Educational Policy in three key areas: First, promoting equitable access and pathways to higher education and careers for all students, especially underserved communities, by reducing financial and resource barriers. Second, bridging high school, college, and career through dual-credit and vocational programs, strengthening collaborations among educational institutions and employers. Third, prioritizing teacher well-being by advocating for professional development, stress-management, and support systems to improve retention and combat burnout.
My first professional role was as an Outreach Specialist with the TRiO Educational Talent Search program at the University of Texas at San Antonio. In this position, I had the privilege of guiding and empowering first-generation and low-income students on their journey to higher education. Over the course of three years, I helped students navigate the college admissions process, access financial aid, and build the confidence needed to pursue their academic goals. This experience sparked my passion for educational equity and set the foundation for my lifelong commitment to expanding college access for all students.
My view of a school board member's primary job is advocating for educational equity and student success. Specifically, ensuring all students have equitable access to high-quality education, supporting effective career and college readiness programs, and prioritizing the well-being and professional growth of teachers. I view a board member as an advocate who actively removes barriers to learning and empowers educators and students alike.
