Hello, I am Sonia Ledo and I am honored to be running for a seat in the California State Assembly in District 15.

My journey is deeply rooted in the ethical values instilled by my immigrant parents who left corrupt and oppressive governments in Nicaragua and Cuba to build a better life here in California. As a proud native of San Francisco and a resident of Contra Costa County for over three decades, I am deeply connected to the diverse communities that make up our district. The district includes over half of Contra Costa County residents in Concord, Pleasant Hill, Martinez, Pittsburg, Antioch, Brentwood, Clayton and other unincorporated areas.

Professionally, I am a bilingual self-employed real estate professional with a degree in legal studies. As a single mother of four adult sons, including autistic twins, I understand the importance of compassion, resilience, and determination in facing life's challenges.

My personal experiences have shaped my perspective and drive to advocate for policies that support families like mine, and I am committed to being a voice for all members of our community.

I am dedicated to making tough decisions to improve our quality of life by addressing our increased crime, taxes and cost of living that continues to drive people and business away. I will represent you with fairness, transparency, and a strong work ethic on all issues ensuring that the voices of our community are heard and valued.
  • PUBLIC SAFETY - a comprehensive approach to stopping low level crime and keeping dangerous criminals off the streets by mandating prosecution, sentencing, and rehabilitation in any reform measure. I support the funding of police and more police services.
  • ECONOMY - I support returning California to "golden state" status by attracting new business and the jobs they provide, while controlling state the deficit, high inflation, and taxes.
  • HOUSING - housing affordability is a huge issue. Housing inventory must be increased to ensure affordability.
public safety; affordable housing; small business; education; improved services for those with disabilities, mental health and homelessness; addressing the needs of our veterans.
integrity, strong values, leadership, ability to make tough decisions
I am a self-employed businesswoman. I hold a prelaw degree. I have been working since age 12, and understand the needs of the hard working class.
Consistency in making good logical decisions that are in the best interest of the people, and remembering that as an elected official we work for the people not the other way around.
I would like to be a part of the solution to making our communities safe again because I have lived in the bay area my entire life. I would also like to improve and better streamline services to the disabled community as a legacy for my twin disabled sons.
1972 - BART first opened in San Francisco. I was 6 years old living in San Francisco.
My first job was delivering the San Francisco Chronicle in my neighborhood, at 5:30am. I was 12 years old and had the job for several years. The income was used to help my mother pay the rent.
Reducing the deficit while addressing solutions to increased crime, unaffordable housing, public education, homelessness crisis, border issues, increased taxes and inflation. California has a lot of work to do.
There are currently 77% experienced democrats in the State Assembly that have put us in a $68billion deficit in less than two years. Previous experience is not always necessary.
Yes, absolutely. Positive business relationships and collaboration is crucial.
What did the triangle say to the circle?

You're pointless.

(my son used to tell me that joke)
Pubic safetey, housing and community development, budget, banking and finance, business and professions, education, jobs economic development and economy,.
The government is of the people and for the people. As such, I believe in full transparency and accountability.
