Sonja Brookins
Sonja Brookins was a member of the Hillsborough Soil and Water Conservation District in Florida, representing Seat 4. She assumed office on January 5, 2021. She left office on January 3, 2023.
Brookins (Democratic Party) ran for election to the Hillsborough County Board of Commissioners to represent District 6 in Florida. She did not appear on the ballot for the Democratic primary on August 20, 2024.
Biography
Sonja Brookins was born in Tampa, Florida. Brookins earned a bachelor's degree from Austin Peay State University in 1992 and a graduate degree from Prairie View A&M University in 1995. She also graduated from Texas Chiropractic College in 1997. Her career experience includes working as a professor. Brookins has been affiliated with LEADS, Guardian Ad Litem, the Democratic Caucus, and the Healthcare Advisory Board.[1]
