I’m a multiracial woman from a multicultural family. My background has acquainted me with issues impacting people from all walks of life, which is essential in a district as diverse as mine. I’m running to represent the18th district in Delaware because I have seen firsthand the disconnect between community voices and state government concerning workers’ rights and wages, education for our students, and environmental justice. As a community leader and a former Miss Delaware, I have worked with environmental and social impact groups throughout the state to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion. I have organized grassroots projects, including community gardens and women’s empowerment workshops. I have formed meaningful relationships with local, state, and federal legislators to demand more equitable policy, and will continue to work with them to improve our district and state. I have the background in science and policy to make a difference for our community and ensure that everyone has a voice.
  • Environmental justice is one of my top priorities. In my district, there has been an increase in development, which has led to a decrease in green space and an increase in traffic and air pollution. We all should have a right to clear air, clear water, and to a clean environment. We know that environmental problems are here because we feel it. How have your allergies been over the last few years? I know mine have been worse than ever before. The Green Amendment, the Healthy Communities and Environmental Justice Act, and the Residential Drinking Water Purification Program are all policies that I will support.
  • Equity in education is another issue I care deeply about. Resources have been pulled from public schools to fund new charter schools, which were created to offer opportunities not available in public schools. Instead of creating new schools with more opportunity, we should focus on increasing funding and resources for our public schools that already exist so families do not feel like they need to opt out to gain a better education. Teachers and staff deserve increased funding and resources to ensure their students are getting the best possible education. This includes a starting educator salary of $60,000.
  • Lastly, workers rights is an issue I plan to fight for. I have seen how ready we are to have a higher minimum wage. People want to go back to work when they are paid a wage that allows them to live comfortably. $10.50 an hour is simply not enough. It is time for us to listen. We cannot wait until 2025 for $15 to be the minimum wage, we are ready for an increase today. In addition, I support the Community Workforce Agreement Act, prevailing wage, and paid apprenticeship programs.
Environmental justice, education, worker's rights, women's rights, LGBTQIA rights, housing, and criminal justice.

Scorecards

See also: State legislative scorecards and State legislative scorecards in Delaware

A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.

Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
