Women's issues including reproductive choice and passing the Equal Rights Amendment. Also equitable public education.
To represent all of the people in the district and to be beholden to only the constituents and not to powerful individuals. They should try to enact the policies and principals that they campaigned upon.
I would like to leave with a reputation that no matter what challenges I faced, I did all I could for my constituents and the people I represented.
As a teenage I marched in the 1969 Charleston Nurses Strike for pay equality for all nurses in local hospitals. This was a monumental event in the South and we were joined by Coretta Scott King. I was 14 at the time.
Wonder Woman because between the stealth of her invisible jet and her Lasso of Truth she was the power to find out what people are really thinking.
Healthcare and education. If the state does not expand Medicaid we leave many people without health insurance. And this does not just affect their health, but also their educational outcomes. Without healthcare students lose valuable educational time by not being in school because some of the parents can’t take time off without losing their jobs. Children without healthcare miss more time out of school due to the fact they are not receiving regular checkups.
Krystal Matthews. She is a young single mother. She didn’t have experience in politics, but she got elected, learned the job and made a difference. She came in fresh and wasn’t spoiled by a career in politics, but she made a name for herself. I’m impressed by her growth.
It all depends on the situation. Some policies you can compromise on, but others demand that you hold fast. Let's take open carry gun laws for an example. It should not be allowable to carry guns into bars and restaurants.
