The South Carolina School Boards Association (SCSBA) is an organization of school boards in South Carolina. The SCSBA's website says it "serves as a source of information and as a statewide voice for boards governing the 72 public school districts."[1]

Background

The South Carolina School Boards Association was founded in 1950 by school board members and business leaders.[2] As of July 2025, their website says, "The mission of SCSBA is to be the leading advocate for quality public education and equip school boards through training and services.[1]

The SCSBA withdrew from the National School Boards Association in November 2021.[3]

Work and activitites

As of July 2025, the SCSBA's website says, "Services include a year-round training program known as the Boardmanship Institute, legislative advocacy, publications, policy services, superintendent searches and a variety of on-site customized services for school boards."[1]
