The South Dakota Smoking Ban Alternative Amendment did not appear on the November 2, 2010 statewide ballot in South Dakota as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. The measure proposed a "weaker smoking ban" than the approved 2009 smoking ban extension. It was rejected by the House Health Committee. The proposed bill would have allowed smoking in bars and casinos if separate rooms were established for smoking and nonsmoking customers.[1][2]
