Spanky Edwards (Democratic Party) ran for election to the U.S. House to represent Illinois' 17th Congressional District. He lost as a write-in in the Democratic primary on March 17, 2020.

Edwards was disqualified after the Illinois State Board of Elections determined that his nominating petition lacked the requisite number of signatures. He ran in the same race's Democratic primary as a write-in candidate.[1][2]
