A Springport Township Fire Levy Renewal proposal was on the November 6, 2012 election ballot in Jackson County, which is in Michigan where it was approved.
This proposal authorized the Springport Township to renew property taxes of 1.5 mills ($1.5 per $1,000 of assessed valuation) for 4 years in order to fund fire and rescue operation costs. The estimated first year revenue from this tax was $72,745.[1]
