A Springvale Township Road Levy Increase proposal was on the November 6, 2012 election ballot in Emmet County, which is in Michigan where it was defeated.
This measure proposed to authorize the Springvale Township to increase property taxes by up to 2 mills ($2 per $1,000 of assessed valuaiton) for 5 years in order to fund repairs and improvements of township roads. The estimated first year revenue from this tax was $170,600.[1]

| “ | Shall Springvale Township impose an extra road millage up to 2 mills ($2.00 per $1,000.00 of taxable value) in the tax limitation, imposed under Article IX, Sec. 6 of the Michigan Constitution, and levy it for 5 years, 2012 through 2016 inclusive, to accelerate repairs and improvements to township roads, raising an estimated $170,600.00 in the first year the millage is levied.
