This measure sought to replace the current drainage levy with one set at a rate of $.40 per $100 of assessed property value for a further five years in order to continue to pay for drainage maintenance and construction costs in the village.[2]

The question on the ballot:
A replacement of a tax for the benefit of the Village of St. Paris for the purpose of CONSTRUCTION AND MAINTENANCE OF A DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENT at a rate not exceeding 4 mills for each one dollar of valuation, which amounts to $0.40 for each one hundred dollars of valuation, for five years, commencing in 2011, first due in calendar year 2012.[3] |
