St Peters City Water Line Insurance Measure (April 2012)
A St Peters City Water Line Insurance Measure was on the April 3, 2012 ballot in the city of St. Peters which is in St. Charles County.
This measure was approved
- YES 3,406 (80.39%)
- NO 831 (19.61%)[1]
This measure sought to implement a waterline insurance fee which would be set at a rate of $12 per year for individual homes in order to help pay for waterline repairs and replacements. Currently, waterline breaks are fully covered by the homeowners but this fee will help alleviate the total costs.[2]
Text of measure
The question on the ballot:
For the purpose of repair or replacement of water lines extending from the water main to a residential dwelling due to failure of the line, shall the City of St. Peters, Missouri, be authorized to impose a fee not to exceed one dollar per month or twelve dollars annually on residential property for each water service line providing water service within the City of St. Peters, Missouri, to residential property having four or fewer dwelling units for the purpose of paying for the costs of necessary water service line repairs or replacements?[3][4] |
