Stacey Peters (Democratic Party) ran for election to the Florida State Senate to represent District 5. She lost in the general election on November 3, 2020.

The Democratic Party of Florida selected Peters to replace candidate Melina Rayna Barratt on the general election ballot after Barratt died on October 5, 2020. Peters received all votes cast for Barratt, whose name still appeared on ballots, which had already been printed before Barratt died.[1]
