Campaign themes

2014

Kuhn's website highlighted the following campaign themes:[1]

The Rule of Law and our Constitutions

  • Excerpt: "Governments must seek to protect all individual rights, and be accountable when they fail in this responsibility. As a State Representative I will fight to protect us from federal and state government intrusion in our lives."

Jobs and the Economy

  • Excerpt: "We need to create a legal and economic environment where our small businesses can grow with confidence, hiring new workers and paying better wages. Our state laws should encourage creativity, initiative and self-reliance in the business world. The more we encourage people to keep the profits they make, the more they will risk their capital, invent new products and create jobs."

Education

  • Excerpt: "I appreciate how important it is that we make higher education, whether it is a four year college, community college, trade school and vocational training affordable for all students and families, and to reduce the amount of crippling student debt that our young people are being forced to take on."

Life

  • Excerpt: "I will support policies that encourage and support women who choose life over abortion. I recognize the decision by the Supreme Court declaring the right of privacy extends to abortions, but I support reasonable regulations and protections that respect parental rights as well as others’ religious liberty in not providing direct or indirect funding for such procedures."

Firearms

  • Excerpt: "I will work with my fellow legislators to overturn recent legislation that was a flawed and unnecessary attack and restriction of legal gun use and will act to protect our natural rights in the future."
