I am married with 2 grown daughters and a native Texan who’s lived in Williamson County for 28 years. I’m a Progressive Christian who identifies as queer. I believe passionately in equal rights for LGBTQ people. I’m Pro-Choice, Pro-Education, and Pro-Democracy.
  • The Justice Court is the people's court. I'm called to meet people where they are and listen compassionately.
  • Fairness and Equity are essential in our judicial system. I am committed to this principle and place no one above another.
  • Harnessing technology to improve court systems and constituent interaction is vital.
Education. I hear truancy cases regularly. I work with schools, students, and parents to ensure a positive outcome. Working with schools means ensuring they understand the filing process and don't wait until a student's missed many classes, making getting caught up harder. Working with students means impressing upon them the importance of their education and listening to their concerns. Working with parents means helping them find alternatives and assistance with parenting, transportation, and other problems.

I hear evictions weekly and feel there needs to be a more significant education about renter's rights and responsibilities. All too often, a renter feels their only choice is to withhold rent to force a property owner to fix issues. Texas law has specific requirements for this to be a legal action and nearly all tenants have no idea what these requirements are.
