Biography
Stacy Hackenberg earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 1985 and a graduate degree from Southern New Hampshire University in 2017.[1]

Selection method
The members of the Texas Justice of the Peace Courts are elected in partisan elections and serve four-year terms. They are elected in a precinct-wide election.[2]
To serve as a justice of the peace, justices must complete a 40-hour course on relevant duties within one year of his or her election. They must also complete a similar 20-hour course each year they continue to serve.[3]

|- The Justice Court is the people's court. I'm called to meet people where they are and listen compassionately.
- Fairness and Equity are essential in our judicial system. I am committed to this principle and place no one above another.
- Harnessing technology to improve court systems and constituent interaction is vital.
I hear evictions weekly and feel there needs to be a more significant education about renter's rights and responsibilities. All too often, a renter feels their only choice is to withhold rent to force a property owner to fix issues. Texas law has specific requirements for this to be a legal action and nearly all tenants have no idea what these requirements are.
