Giles has served 26 years in the Air Force. He was transferred seven years ago to the McGhee Tyson Air National Guard Base. He is married and has two children.[1]

The August 7, 2014 general election ballot for District 1 included Sammy Humphrey, Terry Hurst, Joe McCulley and Debbie Sudhoff. Incumbent Charles Finley ran unopposed on the District 3 ballot. The District 5 ballot included incumbent Don McNelly and challenger Scott Helton. The District 7 ballot included Dennis Cardin, Stan Giles and Fred Goins.

Funding

Giles did not file a campaign finance report with the Blount County Election Commission.[2]

Giles was endorsed by the Blount County Tax Revolt.[3]
