Ruddie ran for election to the Orphans Court of Queen Anne’s County.
Primary: He ran unopposed in the Democratic primary on June 24, 2014.
General: He was defeated in the general election on November 4, 2014, after receiving 8.8 percent of the vote. He competed against Eric Wargotz, and incumbent judges, Thomas M. Walsh, Kimberly Jean Cascia, and Joseph V. DiPietro for three open seats.

Ruddie studied at the University of Maryland.[3]
Career
Ruddie is a photographer with a studio in his home. He also buys and rents residential and commercial properties.[4]
