Text of measure
Text of the question:
“ | Shall the person holding the office of Town Clerk/Treasurer in the Town of Stanton be appointed by the Town Board?[1][2] | ” |
Explanatory statement
Below is the County given statement explaining this measure:
“ | The reason for changing the elected position of Town Clerk/Treasurer to an appointed position by the Town Board is due to the extensive training, knowledge, and responsibilities required; thus insuring the Town of Stanton has a qualified and trained person for the position.
A “YES” vote will authorize the Town Board to appoint the Town Clerk/Treasurer. A “NO” vote will deny the Town Board the authority to appoint the Town Clerk/Treasurer. Thus the Town Clerk/Treasurer would continue to be an elected position.[1][2] |
