Star Moffatt was a 2016 Republican candidate for District 21 of the California State Senate.

Moffatt previously worked as an executive director of a community-based organization that helped handicapped people and handicapped homeless people. She is a member of the PTA, Adviser of the Palmdale Superintendents Advisory Council, and was selected 2009 by the FBI to be a member of their FBI InfraGard Program. She served six years in the U.S. Military and attained the rank of E4.[1]

Moffatt earned associate degrees in Interdisciplinary Studies and Legal Assistant Studies from LA Mission College and completed her first year of law school at the William Howard Taft University School of Law.[1]

Elections for the California State Senate took place in 2016. The primary election was held on June 7, 2016, and the general election was held on November 8, 2016. The candidate filing deadline was February 25, 2016, for candidates filing with signatures. The deadline for candidates using a filing fee to qualify was March 11, 2016.[3] Incumbent Sharon Runner (R) did not seek re-election.

Scott Wilk defeated Johnathon Ervin in the California State Senate District 21 general election.[4][5]
