State Affairs Committee, Alaska House of Representatives
The State Affairs Committee is a standing committee of the Alaska House of Representatives.
Per the Uniform Rules, committees of the Alaska House of Representatives are assigned by the Committee on Committees with the committee's report subject to approval by a majority of the House. The Committee on Committees is appointed by the presiding officer and has five members including the presiding officer. Committees are assigned after each election and each committee must have an uneven number of members.[1] The Speaker is not recognized as an ex officio member of any committee.

Function
According to Uniform Rule 20-a, the State Affairs Committee has jurisdiction over:
“ | [P]rograms and activities of the Office of the Governor and the Departments of Administration, Military and Veterans' Affairs, Corrections, and Public Safety, and program and activities of the Department of Transportation and Public facilities relating to public facilities.[2][3] | ” |
