State Bar Court judges reappointed
August 29, 2012
California: The California Supreme Court completed one of its administrative duties yesterday, reappointing current Judges Joann M. Remke and Patrice E. McElroy to the State Bar Court. That court exclusively handles attorney discipline cases. In most states, disciplinary measures for attorneys accused of misconduct are doled out by the state Supreme Court. California is the only state with an independent court to investigate charges and determine consequences.[1]
Remke was appointed to the court in 2004, while McElroy was appointed to the State Bar Court in 2006. Both new terms expire on October 31, 2018.[1]
