Rhode Island: Rhode Island Supreme Court Justice Maureen McKenna Goldberg has stated that she will not recuse herself from a case involving Deepwater Wind, an offshore wind company that Goldberg's husband has worked for in the past as a lobbyist. The court denied a motion to remove Justice Goldberg from the case on February 11; the court notes that Goldberg did not participate in that decision. Goldberg has stated that she does not believe she needs to recuse herself from the case because her husband, Robert D. Goldberg, a prominent house lobbyist, has only worked on behalf of Deepwater in the past and not on the legal matter of the current case.[1]
