It was Stefanie’s community engagement that has led her to take the next step in serving the westside by running for Ohio State Representative. Her values are based on community, equality, freedom, and the belief that we truly are better together. As a Councilmember in Cheviot, Stefanie works for the betterment of the city, not allowing partisanship to be a factor nor obstacle to doing what’s best for residents and will bring that same can-do attitude to Columbus.

  • Vote for Stefanie Hawk to change the status quo in Columbus. We need a representative that puts people over politics.
  • A vote for Hawk is a vote for workers rights and affordable healthcare.
  • Stefanie works to be an ally to all marginalized and vulnerable groups, and doesn't back down to bullies.

My first job was at the McAuley Convent in high school. I worked there for about 2 years serving drinks to the nuns during meals and cleaning up afterwards. It was the perfect first job right next to school, I could walk right over. Minimum wage was $4.25 and hour back then, I can't even image that now!
Ideally, they'd be working in conjunction for the betterment of the state, for the good of the people. Realistically, they should be serving as check and balance on one another, which is hard to do when the Governor is the same party as the super-majority in the legislature.
Yes. I currently serve on Cheviot's City Council and there was a lot of "on-the-job" learning to take on that role and learn the ins and outs of council's responsibilities and that was for a small city. But now knowing more about the different type of grants, annual budgets and appropriation requirements, state laws and general operation of the city has me better prepared to start at the state level and be able to hit the ground running.
Yes. I progress is made through compromise. To often today, especially in government, the other side is seen as the enemy verses the opposing viewpoint and that is really toxic to getting anything productive done. We're all very passionate in our views and what we think is the right way, but we have to leave room for compromise.
