Stefany Miley was a judge for Department 23 of the Nevada 8th Judicial District Court. She assumed office on January 3, 2005. She left office on January 3, 2021.

Miley ran for re-election to the Eighth Judicial District Court.
General: She defeated Craig Friedberg in the general election on November 4, 2014, receiving 71.8 percent of the vote.

Education
Miley earned a bachelor's degree in journalism and marketing from Texas A&M University in 1993. She earned her J.D. from California Western School of Law.[2]
Career
Prior to her election to the bench, Miley was an attorney in private practice.[2]
Evaluations
2013 judicial performance evaluation
In 2013, the Las Vegas Review-Journal sponsored a survey of 902 lawyers who rated Nevada Supreme Court justices and judges located in Clark County. 62% of respondents voted in favor of keeping Miley on the bench. The average vote in favor of retention for all 88 judges evaluated was 71%.[3]
2010 judicial performance evaluation
The Las Vegas Review‐Journal performed a survey of attorneys with first-hand knowledge of state judges in 2010. Of 796 survey respondents, 58% said that they would not recommend Miley for retention to the court.[4]
Noteworthy events
Miley arrested on domestic violence charge (2018)
On December 22, 2018, Miley was arrested on a charge of domestic violence. Miley's 18-year-old son alleged, in a text message to his father, that Miley had struck him in the face and head. The father, Edward Miley, reported the incident to Las Vegas police, who subsequently arrested Miley at around 11:00 p.m. At the time of the incident, Stefany and Edward Miley were in the midst of a divorce.[5]
